Shallot Tarte Tartin

I fed this to a crush of mine and she broke up with her man to date me (I had no idea she was in relationship).

This Tart is powerful and you need to be careful who you serve this too. Maybe you feed it to that special someone in your life, your biggest fan but not some rando.

In a fight and need a way out? This tart is your answer - they will forgive you.

This is a classique. French cooking is so full of love and if you have great technique it can make the most simple foods the best to eat. This dish requires minimal ingredients and most of them you might already have available in your pantry. You can use store bought pastry dough to make it easy but if you want to impress even more use my own flaky pastry dough. The idea is simple and only one pan is needed.

In short- start by searing the shallots to wake them up and remove from the pan. Make a caramel add some sherry vinegar, a knob of butter and add the shallots back in the pan. Top with pastry crust and then proceed to bake off. BOOM it’s done.

This dish has become a staple. People have messaged me saying this has become a holiday tradition in their household. It really has aura like that.
